Crazy days – all hail the hobby lifeline. #shelterinhobby

It is though the Plaguefather himself has set his sights on Holy Terra for his next incursion, right? In all seriousness though, these are some interesting times we’re all currently living in. First and foremost, I hope that you are all happy and healthy, and observing the guidelines we’ve all been issued regarding social distancing and whatnot. We can all get through this together, and get through it we shall.

As tabletop wargaming is a very social hobby, spending weeks shut in can be a very daunting prospect, but that’s where we’re at.

Daughters of Khaine – Kraith test mini

As I had mentioned in my previous post, I’d picked up the army book, cards and miniatures for the Daughters of Khaine forces of Age of Sigmar. I’m not sure why these hadn’t caught my eye earlier, but I’ve got to say, the movement and posing of these Aelves is just gorgeous. The miniatures really get across the message that these are lithe, brutal killers, and bloody scary to boot.

First game of DeepWars.

It’s behind me, isn’t it…?

I’m super excited to be heading out to Adepticon tomorrow, to see all the cool stuff that I can’t afford, but mostly because I want to see if there will be any sneak peeks of the new Sisters of Battle.

Anyhoo, last week I sallied forth up to Grognard Games and played my first ever game of DeepWars by Antimatter Games, a rule set based on the Song of Blades and Heroes engine by Ganesha Games. It was actually at Adepticon a few years back that I saw the demo games being played there and was immediately struck by the fact that this was a game set in the unfathomable deeps, where dive-suit clad fortune hunters pit their wits against all manner of enemies in the quest for fortune and glory. (Unashamed Indiana Jones reference there, kid).
